The 2020 Census Form is Now Available

The 2020 Census is now live. Click the button below to take you the official United States Census Bureau's website to fill out your Census Form.

The 2020 Census questionnaire will take about 10 minutes to complete.

If you will be living in Madison County on April 1st, you are considered a resident. We need you to take the time to fill out the 2020 Census. Securing an accurate count is very important for our community. The Census helps federal, state and local governments allocate tax money to build infrastructure and deliver needed services.  It also provides information to businesses that can help them choose communities to build or expand into.

For Madison County it means over $1,400 per-person per-year in direct and indirect money from the Federal Government; and over $85 per-person in direct State money. This money goes to fund everything from roads and schools, to public safety, healthcare, housing assistance, WIC, SNAP (food stamps), Medicare, and more.

It also helps to determine state allocation for Federal Pell Grants.

Beginning in March every residence in the country will receive a letter from the US Census Bureau. This post card has a unique PIN number that will allow you to go online to fill out the Census. If you don’t receive, or have lost the mailing, you can still fill out the Census Form by visiting the Census Bureau’s website (available in March 2020).

One person in your home or apartment needs be in charge of filing out the Census Form.

This person is “Person 1” on the Census form. Person 1 answers general questions about the housing unit, including the number of persons living there and whether the dwelling is rented or owned. Person 1 also provides the following information about each household member:

  • Name

  • Relationship to Person 1

  • Sex

  • Age

  • Date of birth

  • Hispanic origin

  • Race

Don’t forget to count young children living with you. If your child is born on April 1st, they need to be counted too. Even if they are in the hospital on April 1st, list them as living at your Madison County address.

Participating in the 2020 Census will help us in building a better Rexburg, and a better Madison County.
